Why you’ll want to work here Join a multidisciplinary team of more than 70 clinicians, working closely across psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics, behaviour support, early intervention teaching, and creative therapies. The support is collaborative, with shared thinking, supported problem solving, and a strong sense of professional respect. You’ll have control over your schedule and work from atleast one of four paediatric clinic spaces, supported by a dedicated Business Support Officer who manages bookings and administration so you can focus on clinical support. Behind you is a well-established organisational backbone, including Business Growth & Marketing, People & Culture, Finance and Claims, Quality & Safeguarding and other Teams giving your work stability, and high-level governance and clarity. You’ll be supported with psychology specific tools, protected mentoring time and mentorship, and a structured onboarding plan with a direct manager to help you settle in and practise confidently. There may be opportunity to support the growth of our Psychology team if that's of interest. You’ll work closely with a visible, accessible leadership team that is actively invested in clinical quality, workforce wellbeing, and building systems that support good clinicians to do their best work. Where this role sits This position sits within the Capacity and Therapy Services business unit at ConnectAbility, encompassing Early Links, delivering early, meaningful intervention for children, young adults, adults and families. The Opportunity We’re looking for a Full time or Part Time Registered Psychologist with a passion for early/ young adult/ adult intervention to work from our Kurri Kurri, Maitland, Ashtonfield and/or Muswellbrook offices. You will provide comprehensive psychological assessment and intervention to individuals across various age groups with significant physical, developmental, and psychosocial disabilities. Our work is grounded in a biopsychosocial approach, supporting the psychological development and wellbeing of children, families, and the wider community. We have participants actively waiting for support, and you will be stepping into work that is needed, valued, and well supported. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with families, carers, teachers, medical professionals and internal stakeholders to support children with developmental delays and children at risk of developing a developmental delay.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions and comprehensive assessments, in line with professional and ethical standards.
- Apply a holistic, practical, and family-centred approach with a strong focus on inclusion.
- Provide consultancy and support to members of the client's broader care team.
- Maintain professional registration and ongoing development.
About You You’re a value-centred, collaborative clinician who combines expertise with empathy and passion. You’ll bring: - Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Experience conducting assessments and interventions with children across a range of settings (e.g. home, early childhood setting, school, community, clinic).
- Experience in family-centred and strengths-based early intervention approaches.
- Understanding of a transdisciplinary team models and Key Worker responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
Essential Requirements - Tertiary Degree qualification in Psychology
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Psychologist
- Current driver's licence
- Comprehensive vehicle insurance and registration
- Willingness to obtain prior to commencement:
- Working with Children Check (paid employment)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- First Aid & CPR certification
