Quality & Safeguarding Leader

We are excited to welcome an experienced Leader to the team who will provide specialist Quality & Safeguarding support and advice on a day-to-day basis to our organisation.

 

About the Role

 

The Quality & Safeguarding Leader (QSL) is responsible for supporting the Executive Leader in embedding a proactive safeguarding culture across ConnectAbility. You’ll work in close partnership with operational managers and the Quality & Safeguarding team to implement our Safeguarding Framework, lead our proactive safeguarding work, and support with internal and external audits, and incident investigations as required.


This is a dynamic, cross-functional role where your expertise will directly influence the safety, rights, and wellbeing of people with disability. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, practice and policy development, and capability building across the organisation.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Support the implementation of ConnectAbility’s Safeguarding Framework.
  • Partner with teams to embed safeguarding practices.
  • Monitor compliance with NDIS and Child Safe Standards.
  • Collaborate across services to improve quality and customer outcomes.
  • Support with internal audits and investigations into reportable and serious incidents as required.


What You Bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quality Management or other related discipline or minimum 7 years’ experience in Quality, Risk and Compliance in the Human Services sector.
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience and knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Registration process and requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of legislation/regulations relating to Complaints, Reportable incidents, Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices.
  • Internal Auditor qualification and/or extensive experience.
  • Investigator qualification and/or extensive experience.
  • Expertise in safeguarding vulnerable people.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative, innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
